Summer 2015 Highlights

0

Oops… My last post was dated June. I could say that I was too busy with work/school/Epicentr/life, but we all know those are excuses. Truth is, I chose to ignore my blog and didn’t make it a priority. I’ll admit over this summer I over-committed myself to too many projects and as a result, I found myself feeling burnt out and exhausted. I am increasingly becoming more conscious in what I say ‘yes’ to which is extremely difficult cause I want to do everything!

Like my life this summer, this post is a bit all over the place. Anyhow, these is the highlight reel of my summer so let’s get on with the show.

On August 15th, I ran my first half-marathon by lululemon SeaWheeze! Huzzah!

Tears or sweat? By 18km who knows…

Year 2 of Epicentr Academy wrapped August 22 and I couldn’t be happier with the results. On the final day, there was so much gratitude in the room I couldn’t barely handle it. After 10 long weeks of facilitating workshops and countless hours before that planning the program, it was all worth it. To hear from my #EpiAcademy folks that I have made an impact on their lives just reinforces why I do this.

This is my happiness

A couple weeks ago, my BFF since grade 4 finally made the jump over to Portugal to be with her love. Nimi and I grew up living 5 houses apart and have gone through every major event together. Needless to say, it’s going to take some time adjusting that my closest friend is now on the other side of the world. (Thank goodness for Whatsapp and Snapchat) I tease her saying that she’s going from a long-distance boyfriend to a long-distance BFF.

Ain’t she a babe

Starting tomorrow, I return to school to finish my final year of my undergrad. Call me crazy but I’ll be taking 4 courses while maintaining 25-30 hours with my PR job. The next 4 months will really test my time management skills while keeping my priorities straight. I’ve worked really hard this summer to make physical exercise and my health a priority and I’m not about to let that slip. Wish me luck!
